Visual Design Standards

Shared standards for readable, symbolic, small-team production.

  • Prefer a limited number of deep, recombinable systems and authored areas over broad catalogs of shallow content.
  • Make each place carry the same argument through geography, history, infrastructure, enemies, and encounter structure.
  • Express symbolism through consequences and repeated use, not ornamental occult language.
  • Keep immediate stakes readable without requiring the player to understand every historical reference.
  • Use equipment, enemy, and environment silhouettes that remain legible beneath transformation.
